ADVISORY

Treasury and profitability advisory

We help finance leaders address a defined issue or develop a broader financial framework. The scope starts with the decisions you need to make, the costs and risks involved, and the information your team can use.

Treasury management

Banking relationships and account structure

When accounts and providers accumulate over time, costs and counterparty dependence become difficult to assess. We review the role of each relationship, compare service terms and identify the capabilities your operations need.

Scope: bank and payment provider selection, jurisdiction and account suitability, account opening preparation, KYC information and negotiation of service terms.

DELIVERABLES

A relationship and account map, provider selection criteria, a proposed account structure and a prioritised banking action plan.

Payments and intragroup flows

Several payment routes can create duplicate costs and leave funds in the wrong entity or currency. We review how money moves, including currencies, timing, fees and intragroup requirements.

DELIVERABLES

A cash flow and payment route map, alternatives with their costs and constraints, and a plan for implementing the agreed structure.

Cash and liquidity management

A positive group cash balance does not show whether the right entity can meet its obligations. We develop forecasts, reserve policies and arrangements for surplus funds that reflect access to cash, return objectives and counterparty exposure.

DELIVERABLES

A forecasting model, liquidity policy, reserve and surplus cash categories, placement criteria and counterparty limits.

Financial risk and banking costs

Interest rate movements, FX exposure and provider charges can erode margins without a clear link to commercial decisions. We assess exposures, review costs and design proportionate risk policies and reporting.

DELIVERABLES

An exposure assessment, agreed limits, risk scenarios and reporting, with hedging policy recommendations where relevant.

Financing

We assess the funding requirement, debt structure and financing costs, and organise the preparation and discussions needed with lenders or investors.

DELIVERABLES

A financing case, supporting financial analysis and lender or investor materials, with a defined plan for the financing process.

Profitability management

Revenue and gross margin alone do not show the economic contribution of a product or client. We build methods that make funding, financial risks and operating costs visible in profitability analysis. Each workstream can be commissioned separately.

Funding costs and funds transfer pricing

For banks, we develop or review FTP by tenor and currency so customer business margins can be distinguished from the effects of treasury and financial risk. For companies, we assess the cost of financing and the working capital used by products, clients and projects.

Indicative duration: 8–10 weeks.

DELIVERABLES

The methodology, calculation model, assumptions, governance and relevant reporting.

Cost allocation

Allocation rules can distort commercial performance or conceal cross-subsidies. We define how costs should be assigned to responsibility centres, business lines, products, clients or projects.

Indicative duration: 6–8 weeks.

DELIVERABLES

Allocation drivers, costing methodology, a calculation model and a clear explanation of the effects on reported profitability.

Product economics and pricing

A price can cover direct costs while failing to compensate for funding or risk. We examine the components of margin, test commercial scenarios and establish pricing and discount rules suited to the business model.

Indicative duration: 6–8 weeks.

DELIVERABLES

Product or unit economics models where appropriate, pricing calculators, scenario analysis and decision rules.

Management reporting and decision tools

We connect profitability measures to accounting data and the decisions management needs to make. Reporting can show performance by product, client, business line or transaction, with the drivers of changes in margin.

Indicative duration: 7–9 weeks.

DELIVERABLES

Reporting definitions, reconciliation logic, management dashboards and relevant bank ALCO materials.

Timelines are indicative and depend on scope, data readiness and the client’s decision process. They describe individual workstreams, not a guaranteed timetable for an entire transformation.

A format suited to the decision

Alternative ways to work together. A defined advisory project can be commissioned directly; a diagnostic is not a mandatory first step.

Diagnostic review

Best suited to: several related concerns, limited visibility of their financial impact, or a need to prioritise improvements before committing to implementation.

Typically 2–3 weeks, mainly remote. Scope and data requirements are agreed first.

DELIVERABLES

An assessment of current arrangements, material costs and risks, and a sequenced action plan.

Defined advisory project

Best suited to: a specific requirement such as FTP, a liquidity policy, a banking review, a pricing model or profitability reporting.

DELIVERABLES

Agreed methods, models or recommendations for the defined question. The proposal specifies deliverables, dependencies and the work required from your team.

Implementation programme

Best suited to: changes spanning several methods, processes or teams that need coordinated delivery.

Responsibilities for systems, legal matters and third party decisions are defined in the scope.

DELIVERABLES

Adwisery leads the agreed workstreams, coordinates the relevant expertise and establishes milestones. The programme includes documentation and transfer of tools to the client team.

Ongoing senior advisory

Best suited to: recurring treasury or profitability decisions requiring experienced input without a permanent specialist appointment.

DELIVERABLES

An agreed scope and review rhythm provide continuity as your business changes. Capacity, responsibilities and any implementation work are specified in the engagement.

Working together

Adwisery provides project leadership, methodology and quality assurance, bringing in specialists where required. The client provides executive sponsorship, a finance or treasury working group, access to the agreed data and timely decisions. Delivery is mainly remote, with on-site sessions agreed where useful.
